Design Excellence Awards 2012
This annual publication is a platform to showcase Singapore interior design capability and promotes Singapore interior design and interior design companies.
Inaugural issue, VITRINE received support by 30 interior design companies feature in 3 areas: project, capability and personality. It also received support by interior design trade companies to advertise in the publication.

DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARDS (DEA) PROGRAM
The Design Excellence Awards was a bi-annual program since 2004. In 2011, IDCS council launched the SPADE awards under DEA for students. DEA will focus to promote industry interior design standard.
The Design Excellence Awards will have two category:
- i-DEA (Industry Design Excellence Awards), for practicing interior designers
- SPADE (SPAtial DEsign Awards), for students
These two awards adopted similar approach via nomination process.
IDCS would appreciate considerations by interior design trade suppliers to sponsor these awards at an agreeable sponsorship amount for administration, marketing & promotion, judging process and award ceremony.
Trade suppliers are encouraged to engage our secretariat at an agreed fee to organize networking session for interior designers to be informed of the product information.
A total of 4 sessions to be organized annually. This can be conducted through sharing of product application in projects, talks on product potential, invited speaker and etc.

CAPABILITY & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) PROGRAM
Members can submit their learning journal to IDCS for endorsement. A certificate of achievement will be issue by IDCS for members who achieved 24 hours of learning each year (January to December) such as attending short courses, conference, talks, exhibition & shows, network session, and etc.
Interior designers can make enquiry on scholarship, grants etc. offer by DesignSingapore or other government agencies and be recommended by the council.
The council is in discussion with relevant parties to proposed CPD program for interior designers, retailers, contractors and etc. Some of the possible programs are:
- Professional Practice in Interior Design, for fresh graduate joining the industry.
- Store & Store Window Planning & Design, for store & retailer.
- Interior Planning & Design, for interior supplier/contractor.
- Lighting Design, for interior designers.
There will be events organized by IDCS through sponsorship or subsidized grants such as:
- Overseas Mission Trip to conference, trade show, and etc.
- IDCS Annual Dinner
- IDCS Conference/ Forum/ Exhibition
